Kylian Mbappe's hat-trick leads PSG to a 4-1 victory over Barcelona
The Frenchman became only the third player to score a Champions League hat-trick against the Catalan giants
Kylian Mbappe scored a stunning hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona 4-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday.
The French striker opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a cool finish after being played through by Neymar. He doubled his tally just before half-time with a powerful header from a Di Maria cross.
Mbappe completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute with a superb solo goal, dribbling past three Barcelona defenders before firing into the bottom corner.
Moise Kean added a fourth for PSG in the 70th minute to put the French champions in a commanding position ahead of the second leg at the Parc des Princes on March 10.
Barcelona pulled one back through Lionel Messi in the 71st minute, but it was a mere consolation.
The result leaves PSG in a strong position to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2021.
